H.I.I.T or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give 100% effort with quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training elevates your heart rate and keeps it up which burns more fat in less time and increases your metabolism.
As an added bonus, there’s also an “afterburn” effect known as EPOC (excess-post exercise oxygen consumption). You increase your metabolism and burn more calories for up to 24 hours after H.I.I.T training, whereas going for a jog burns almost NO calories after.
